Cấu trỳc so sỏnh ngang bằng với as as Cấu trỳc: S + to be +as + adj + as + noun/ pronoun/clause. Vớ dụ: Folk music is as melodic as pop music. My painting is as expensive as hers. 2. Cấu trỳc so sỏnh với the same as Cấu trỳc: S + V + the same (N) + as + noun/ pronoun/ clause Vớ dụ: The price of a guitar is the same as the price of a cello. The school is the same as it was 5 years ago. II So sỏnh sự khỏc nhau 1. Cấu trỳc so sỏnh khụng ngang bằng với not as as Cấu trỳc: S + to be + not + as + adj + as + noun/pronoun/ clause. Ex: My hometown is not as noisy as yours. She is not as famous as she was before. 2.   4. 1. The music festival this year is as good as it was last year. 2. The concert will be broadcast 'live': that means it comes on TV at the same time as it is performed. 3. This camera is not as expensive as I thought at first. 4. Your taste in art is quite different from mine. 5. Some people say that Spider-Man 2 is as boring as Spider-Man 1. 6. My mother is always as busy as a bee. 2. Put one of these phrases in each gap in the passage Key: MY HOMETOWN TODAY My hometown has changed a lot – it’s definitely not the same as it was before. It’s not as quiet as it was 5 years ago. It’s much more noisy, but I prefer it now. There are more shops and restaurants. The restaurants are different from the ones we had before. Now we can eat many different kinds of food – Italian, French, and even Mexican! There have been so many changes. Even the streets are not as narrow as they were before. They are wider now to make space for the extra traffic. One thing hasn’t changed though. The people here are as warm and friendly as before. That’s one thing that’s the same as it was before. 3. Work in pairs. Compare the two music clubs in the town: Young Talent and Nightingale. Example: Young Talent is not as old as Nightingale./ Nightingale is older than Young Talent Key: 1. Nightingale is older than Young Talent. 2. Young talent is more friendly than Nightingale. 3. Young Talent is not as safe as Nightingale. 4. Nightingale is not as large as Young Talent. 5. Young Talent is as expensive as Nightingale. 6. Young Talent is not as famous as Nightingale.
