  1. Tuần 3 (27/9/2021 – 1/10/2021) UNIT 2: HEALTH LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED Warm up: eating well sleep well Health ACTIVITY 1 : Listen and read : What can you see in the picture? What time is it? What are the boys doing? Who do you think is healthier? + won’t take no for an answer: không chấp nhận a) Find a word or phrase that means: E.g : The name of a computer game: Zooniverse @ Key: 2- I don’t feel like it 3- sound down 4- putting on weight 5- won’t take no for answer. b) Tick ( ) the correct name for the activities Nick Phong 1.stay at home 2.play computer games 3.go outside 4.go swimming 5.avoid getting sunburn ACTIVITY 2 : Match the health issues with the correct pictures. E.g: 1- allergy. @ Key: 2- f (sickness) 3-d (flu) 4-c (put on weight) 5- b (sunburn) 6- a (spots) a) Can you think of any more health issues? Add them to the box.

ACTIVITY 1 : Look at the picture. Write the problems below the picture of each patient. @ Key: 1.flu 2. Sunburn 3. allergy 4.tired/ weak ACTIVITY 2 : Read the doctor’s notes about his patients and fill in the missing words
  3. @ Key: Patient 1: (a) sunburnt Patient 2 : (the) flu Patient 3: tired, temperature Patient 4: sick, stomachache Patient 5: sore throat ACTIVITY 3 : Role -play the meeting with the doctor: Hung : Hi ,Doctor Thao Dr: Hi ,Hung Hung : I was outside all day yesterday. I feel very hot and my face is red. Dr: I see, I think you have a sunburn. ACTIVITY 4 : Choose a health problem. Work in groups. Tell your group about the last time you have that problem. E.g: A: I had flu two weeks ago B: Me too! I felt so weak C: Oh, I had a sore throat yesterday. D: I had a toothache. I think I ate too many sweets. Pronunciation: /f/ and /v/ ACTIVITY 5 : Listen and circle the words you hear /f/ /v/ fat vast ferry vault fast save leaf leave ACTIVITY 6 : Listen and circle the word (s) with the /f/ or /v/ sounds. Then say the sentences 1. Fast food isn’t health. 2. I have felt sick all day. 3. Obesity is a problem- people are getting fatter. 4. Having a healthy lifestyle is important. 5. Too many sweets give you a toothache

HOMEWORK : - Learn Vocab - Do Exercise A1, 2 (W.B, p.10) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LESSON 3: A CLOSER LOOK 2 Warm up: chatting IMPERATIVES E.g: When I feel tired, should I sleep more or less? What should I do if I am doing poorly in school? What should I do when I want to lose weight? put on weight? (to) stay in shape : giữ cơ thể khỏe mạnh Grammar Imperatives with “more” or “less” We can use the imperatives for direct commands, orders or suggestions Do more exercise Eat more fruit/ vegetables Sleep more Watch your hands more Eat less junk food Watch less TV Spend less time playing computer games. ACTIVITY 1: Which advice would you give to each of these people? Use the imperative with more or less a) He should wash his hands more b) She should spend less time playing computer games c) She should eat more fruit and vegetables d) She should sunbathe less.
  5. ACTIVITY 2: Top Health Tips for Teens Look at the health tips. Which do you think are most important for you and your classmates? ACTIVITY 3: Fill in the blanks to complete their top six health tips @ Key: 1- Do more exercise! 2- Sleep more! 3- Eat less junk food. 4- Wash your hands more. 5- Watch less TV 6-Spend less time playing computer games Compound sentences When we want to join two ideas, we can link two simple sentences to form a compound sentence. We can use a coordinating conjunction like and (for addition), or (for choice), but (for contrast), or so (for a result). Remember There is usually a comma (,) after the first independent clause ACTIVITY 4: Make compound sentences by joining the two simple sentences. Use the conjunction given @ Key: 1. I want to eat some food, but I have a sore throat. 2. The Japanese eat healthily, so they live for a long time. 3. I feel tired, and I feel weak. 4. You can go and see the doctor, or you can go to bed now and rest. ACTIVITY 5 : Match the beginning of the sentences with the picture that completes them @ Key: 1.d 2.c 3.a 4.b ACTIVITY 6 :
  6. Now, complete the second part of the compound sentences. @ Key: 1. Hung washes his hands a lot, so he doesn’t have flu. 2. David eats lots of junk food, and he doesn’t do exercise. 3. The doctor told Elena she should sleep more, or she should try to relax more. 4. My sister plays computer games a lot, but she does exercise too.
