- REVISION Tenses 1. Present Simple Tense + Use: chỉ thói quen, lặp đi – lặp lại, sự thật chân lí, sự việc xảy ra ở hiện tại 1 + Structure: S + V - S/ ES + Adv: - adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes, never) - every + (time), once, twice, three times,.. 2. Present Continuous Tense + Use: chỉ sự việc đang xảy ra tại thời điểm đang nói ở hiện tại + Structure: S + am/is/are + V- ing + Adv: - now, right now, at the moment - Look!/ Listen!... 3. Present Perfect Tense + Use: - chỉ sự viêc đã xảy ra nhưng không rõ thời gian hoặc đã xảy ra và kéo dài đến HT rồi kết thúc (hoặc vẫn còn tiếp diễn) + Structure: 3 S + have/ has + V - ed + Adv: * just, already, ever/- * yet, recently, since + (point of time), for + (duration of time) 3. Past Simple Tense + Use: - chỉ sự viêc đã xảy ra trong quá khứ có thời gian xác định 2 + Structure: S + V - ed + Adv: - yesterday - last + (time) - (duration of time)+ ago - time in the past (Ex: in 1998) 5.Past continous tense + Use: -diễn tả sự việc đang diễn ra trong quá khứ mà có thời gian xác định + Structure: S +was/were+ V- ing + Adv: -at 6 o’clock yesterday 6. Future Simple Tense + Use: - chỉ sự viêc sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai có thời gian xác định + Structure: S + will/ shall + V1 + Adv: - tomorrow - next + (time) - in a few + (time) - soon, later, ... Passive forms 1. Passive form in Present Simple Tense 3 Structure: S + am/ is/ are + V -ED 2. Passive form in Past Simple Tense 3 Structure: S + was/ were + V -ED 3. Passive form in Future Simple Tense and Modal Verbs 3 Structure: S + will/ can/ must ..+ be + V -ED EXERCISE 1

SOME STRUCTURES 1. although + a clause of concession => despite + N-phrase/ V-ing Ex. - Although he is poor, he is the best student in our class. =>Despite being poor, he is the best student .. 2. used to + V = usually + V-ed/ V2 (past habit) đã từng, đã thường Ex. My father used to smoke a lot but now he isn’t any more. 3. be/ get + used to + V-ing (present habit) Ex. Lan is used to getting up early. 4. Degree of comparisons a. Equality: as + Adj/Adv + As b. Comparative: Short Adj + er + than/ more + long Adj+ than c. Superlative: the + short Adj+est / the most + long Adj III. Rewrite sentences with: although/ despite 2
