Past continuous (quá khứ tiếp diễn) Usage: We use the past continuous to describe an action that was in progress at a started time in the past. (diễn tả 1 hành động diễn ra tại 1 thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ) -is used with When Ex: -When the boy was crying, a fairy appeared. =>A fairy appeared while the boy was crying. S + was/ were + Ving.., S+ V2/ed.. (past continuous) ( Simple past) When/ while Usage: We use the past continuous to describe an action that was in progress when another action happened.( diễn tả 1 hành động diễn ra khi có hành động khác xen vào trong quá khứ) -is used with “While” Ex: The bird was singing while the dog was barking =>While the dog was barking, the bird was singing S + was/ were + Ving while S+ was/ were + Ving (past continuous) (past continuous) Usage: We use the past continuous to describe two actions those were in progress in the past.( diễn tả 2 hành động cùng đang diễn ra trong quá khứ) You look at the box below and copy
